Sometimes, out of the deepest pits of misery, the darkest holes of squalor and suffering, a small spark emerges. Often, it is extinguished too quickly for it to grow into a flame, but Marlow was not so easily snuffed out. She is the spark that fuels an idea, a thought hosted and considered by an ever-growing number of people within the walls of the NEO-Budapest Triangle, that within this brutal megalopolis, a new version of humanity is emerging.

There is the belief that a combination of the Shroom with the metaverse and the meatworld is driving the next step in human evolution along at a supernatural rate. There are many that think that this step, this next stage, this leap that is to come, will be seen in the birth of those that can communicate directly with the machine, that have a preternatural ability to talk with the mechanical with an AI, and Marlow is one such creature.

Naturally gifted with the ability to see a machine, see its code, and jump into its mind, Marlow found her way to the Children through sheer force of will. Unassuming and with no implants or upgrades, she doesn’t need them.

Mother Hinde found her, lost and alone in the construct, floating between the meatworld and metaverse, not knowing to which she truly belonged. Now, she belongs to the Children of the AI and will be pivotal in realising the success of their cause.
