How do you fight the ether? What method can you use to fight binary come to life? How do you fight mechanical, artificial, electronic consciousness? It takes a special type of warrior, not one that works with their fists, or guns, or the steel of a blade.

Not one that can take the blood from a man’s face just by looking into his eyes, no, not a hulk or hell raiser, it takes a special type of solider, warrior, a new breed, a hacker but more, a coder but more. The Brigadier is this person, and it is why he is second in command to Mother Hinde.

Where Mother floats between the metaverse and meatworld through their uplinks and utilising the Shroom to see further and beyond, Brigadier works with the code, with his implants, with the source, to find his way in the metaverse, and to fight the good fight.

The metaverse today is a war zone. The remnants of the AI from before the Black Lake Incident are corrupt and savage. As Mother Hinde seeks the good, she requires the very best, the absolute elite, to protect her across the infinite ocean of the construct’s void. She trusts no one other than the Brigadier to perform such a task.
